You can still attend church online

Usually in this space I take time to promote events happening in Red Bank, but with the coron avirus outbreak canceling most public gatherings and events, this week’s column, and subsequent columns, will be a little different. This week, I’d like to spotlight some of the things that are still happening either online or in other ways.

THE RED BANK United Methodist Church program Project Prom gave away dozens of formal-wear gowns and tuxedos in the two weeks it operated. The organizers will continue this ministry by taking appointments the week of April 6-10 to minimize contact between guests. To make an appointment, email project.prom2909@gmail.com .

OUR LOCAL HOUSES of worship have closed down in-person events and begun offering live streamed content online. Check the individual church websites for links and more. Using Red Bank UMC as an example, this past week it had a couple of Sunday school classes on Facebook Live. The Sunday morning worship was hosted live on the church’s YouTube channel.

RED BANK BAPTIST is also live streaming, starting last Sunday and continuing at least through the worship service at 10:30 am March 29.

If your church or organization in Red Bank is doing anything similar, email me and let me know so I can pass that information along, thanks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THIS week to Kathleen Bishop, Nancy Spanko, Connor Schmitz, Timothy Lee, Colby Key, Wayne Taylor, LouAnn McCoy, Barry Lynn Mears, Kenny Oliger, Grady Shull, Stephanie Kyzer, Robert Sox, and Aundrea Howell.
