State Treasurer Curtis Loftis wants to help you find more than $700 million in unclaimed property.
His new social media promotion, The Matchelor ,is a parody of The Batchelor TV series.
“We have a team of committed matchelors and matchelorettes who actively work to match people with their unclaimed funds every day. With more than a million accounts, we can’t do it alone,” Loftis said.
“Funds in our Unclaimed Property Program are remitted to the State Treasurer’s Office each year by businesses who have been unable to find the rightful owners,” Loftis said.
“These funds may be checks that were lost in the mail and never cashed, forgotten utility deposits, insurance proceeds or even shares of stock.
“Search our treasurer.sc.gov website to see if you can reconnect with your missing money.”
The Lexington County Chronicle and The Fish Wrapper also publish names of those due money each week.
You can watch the 2 newspapers for your name or those of family members or friends.
